Newtownabbey
Newtownabbey is a large and predominantly residential town situated directly north of Belfast, forming a key part of the city's extensive urban sprawl and acting as a major commuter hub. It was created from the merger of several existing villages and has grown significantly over the decades. Despite its modern suburban feel, the area is steeped in history. The centrepiece is the stunning 19th-century mansion, Carnmoney House, which sits within the beautiful Carnmoney Cemetery, offering panoramic views over Belfast Lough. The nearby Hazelbank Park provides a welcome green space along the shoreline for walking and recreation.
